About
kaya-sila is a sanctuary of sacred form.
Coming from the ancient Pāli language (spoken during the time of Buddha), kaya meaning form, while sila meaning discipline. Together, kayasila emerges as a “discipline of form” — the embodied path that honors both skill and stillness.
We walk this path with master artisans, whose hands carry generations of symbolic knowledge and reverent precision.
Through kayasila, we aim to:
- Preserve and elevate Himalayan sacred art through mindful craftsmanship
- Collaborate meaningfully with monasteries, practitioners, museums, and seekers
- Empower artisans by sharing their stories and honoring their mastery
- Inspire inner resolve through objects that awaken the sacredness
